Taos Ski Valley
The Taos Ski Valley has a lot to offer, but in order to enjoy it all you must get there first. You can find driving directions and location maps at www.skitaos.org by clicking "Getting Here." This section provides driving directions from a number of cities and areas and lists airlines servicing nearby major cities. Taos also has its own Municipal Airport. There is list of car rental companies and bus shuttles further down with information on scheduling and phone numbers. After arranging transportation you'll want to select lodging and start planning your trip activities.
Taos Valley Lodging
By clicking the "Lodging" heading on the main page you can view available packages listed under "extreme savings" or select village or town listings from the dropdown menu. Packages are based on double occupancy and a minimum two-night stay. Each place to stay has a telephone number and fax listed in the upper left corner. Simply call if you have questions or to make reservations. You are also given the option to book online by choosing "Book Online" from the Lodging dropdown menu. Here you will need to enter your arrival and departure dates and the number of occupants. Taos’ online booking service will first set up car rental service, although you are given the option to skip this by clicking the blue button labeled “skip.” After choosing your rental or skipping car service, you are presented with different hotel options. You will need to click the blue “select” button next to one of the choices to continue. Next you are shown a screen that allows you to filling check-in and checkout information and room type. Clicking next will take you to a screen allowing you to choose which guests would like ski lessons. The online checkout will then step you through purchasing online lift tickets and rentals if you have not already done so.
Taos Ski Valley Resort
There are plenty of things to do at the Taos Ski Valley Resort, not the least of which is skiing. Lift tickets are available by Selecting "Rates" and then clicking "Lift Tickets" from the dropdown menu. A number is listed at the bottom for questions regarding lift rates. Besides lift tickets, you'll need skis if you want to ski. Information on rentals is available from the same dropdown menu under "Rentals." There are many places other than the Apache Valley Rentals that offer access to ski equipment. Numbers are listed below each ski shop as well as websites. With transportation, lodging, ski rentals and lift tickets taken care of, there's only one thing left: learning how to ski. Click "Ski School" to find information on lessons. Private, beginner and group lessons are all available and once again a phone number is provided at the bottom if you have questions involving rates, times, or scheduling.
