Waterville valley ski resort is one of the largest in New Hampshire, located 130 miles north of Boston. The resort features 52 trails across three mountains, all open for skiing and snow boarding. The terrain is suitable mostly for intermediate levels: 20% beginner, 60% intermediate and 20% advanced. The resort also offers cross country skiing, skating, snow tubing and snowshoeing. The resort has a town with a number of inns and condos, in addition to a conference center. Another ski resort that is popular is Loon Mountain, located about 130 miles north of Boston. There are 45 lifts are spread over 275 acres of skiable area. The terrain is largely for intermediate skiers: 20% beginner, 64% intermediate and 16% advanced. The resort offers a number of activities including day and night tubing, cross country skiing, skating. There are lodges available, both at the peak and base of the mountain. The resort is nearby to the skiing town of Lincoln/Woodstock, where dining and shopping is plentiful.
