Heavenly Ski Resort
Heavenly ski resort is located in northern California, on the southern tip of Lake Tahoe. The resort straddles the border of California and Nevada and is the largest ski resort by acreage in California. Heavenly is about 200 miles east of the bay area. Heavenly village is nestled at the base of the mountains at the shore of Lake Tahoe. The resort town offers everything from luxury hotels to modest lodges, in addition to plenty of fine dining. There is also a dynamic nightlife, including casinos, bars, nightclubs and concerts. The snow peaks can be reached by gondola from the village. The gondola is open year around to offer scenic views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding area.
Heavenly ski resort offers skiing lessons for all ages, in addition to childcare. In order to preserve the spectacular natural beauty of the lake, Heavenly also promotes environmentalism by operating the resort in an environmentally conscious manner. For instance, the resort is 100% powered by wind. The Heavenly ski resort is open year around. When the snow has melted, the mountain is still open for sightseeing, mountain climbing, hiking and boating on Lake Tahoe. There is also an area called adventure peak, with dining and activities and trails to keep the entire family engaged.
Heavenly Ski Area
Heavenly ski resort boasts some of the most pristine ski surfaces. The ski slopes are located on Epic Mountain, the tallest mountain on Lake Tahoe. The 91 trails of the ski area offer a full range of difficulty for any ski level: 20% beginner, 45% intermediate, 30% advanced and 5% expert. The ski areas boasts some of the best tree skiing and the longest vertical drop. The winter season spans from November through April. There is an annual average snowfall of 360 inches, in addition to snowmaking capacity that can cover up t o 70% of the trails.
